Eoghan O’Dea

A lot of eyeballs have been on Eoghan O’Dea because he is one of the big chip stacks at the 2011 Main Event Final Table. Though success on the felt is not something he is only now coming to grips with. When Eoghan O’Dea started playing poker, he started winning right away. The very first tournament that he entered he ended up winning it and has been very successful since that faithful day.

O’Dea’s father is well known in the poker world. His father’s name is Donnacha O’Dea and he also won a WSOP bracelet back in 1998 and has had two appearances at the WSOP Main Event with final table appearances. Some people have commented that Eoghan might just be following in his father’s footsteps.

Eoghan O’Dea comes from Dublin, Ireland and his current tournament winnings right now are around $732,511 and he is only 26 years old. He started to play poker when he was only 16 and each year he just keeps on getting better and with that comes a healthy boost to his bankroll. One of his favorite poker games is No Limit Hold’em cash games.

One of his ambitions in life is to win some of the major tournaments and to be very successful with the big cash games. He’s worked hard in trying to learn a lot by watching his father, who will no doubt give him many words for advice before the November Nine final table action recommences.

Currently he is going into the final table in second position having 33,925,000 in chips and holds a lot of promise to the fact that he could possibly win this game. However, he does have tough competition and so it’s still almost anyone’s game right now.

Hopefully he is able to spend the next few months taking it all in and gaining in confidence so that when he goes into the final table he is refreshed and just as ambitious as he was starting out with the game.

Away from the table when he is not playing poker he might be listening to his favorite genre of music, which is techno. He has a great deal of respect for other poker pros such as Doyle Brunson, Chip Reese, Eric Seidel and Phil Ivey. In the online poker arena, “Sendo” and “Upiter7” are currently two online players’ games that he admires. If he could change anything in the world right now he said that he would change world peace.
